Don't bother cleaning.... ?

Ok, this is one that I read and just didn't know what to think about.   Cleaning your AR-15 is a waste of time, at least, according to Andrew on Vuurwapen Blog.  I can see the points that he makes, but somehow I get the idea that most of the people he knows and shoots with are arduously scrubbing their receivers for hours at a stretch.  I agree to a certain extent, but I don't all at the same time.
